Cassia Tora
Senna tora
Our principal trading commodity. Cassia Tora seeds are traded internationally as a source of cassia gum and for traditional applications.

Cassia Tora overview
Cassia Tora is the seed of Senna tora, a leguminous plant. The seeds are small, angular, and glossy brown. They should not be confused with cassia bark, which is a cinnamon spice from an unrelated plant.
Cassia Tora seeds are traded internationally mainly as the raw material for cassia gum, a galactomannan used as a thickening and gelling agent. In parts of Asia, roasted seeds are also used in herbal teas and traditional preparations.
Cassia Tora is Choice Spice International’s principal trading commodity. We work with buyers on bulk sourcing, agreeing quality parameters, packaging, and documentation against each buyer’s specification before confirming supply.
Common applications
- Cassia gum extraction
- Thickening and gelling agents
